A supercharged first-generation Range Rover Sport in Autobiography trim, getting big brakes, a transfer case teardown, and an engine teardown in my shop through 2025.
This is a black first-generation Range Rover Sport, the L320, in supercharged Autobiography trim with the tan leather inside. The photo up top is from a Florida driveway in November 2024, before the 2025 engine and brake work, so it’s the “before” shot.
Brakes came first. I stripped the front corners down to the bare hub, and it now runs Brembo calipers in fresh red paint clamping EBC Racing two-piece slotted rotors, 380 mm across. A truck this heavy with this much power deserves to stop like it means it.
In August 2025 the transfer case came apart on the bench, and a box of new NTN needle roller bearings came in with the parts.
Then the big one. That fall the supercharged V8 got opened up in the bay: the intake came off, the ports got covered, and the front of the engine came apart far enough that both banks of timing chains and cam phasers are out in the open. By the end of November the top of the engine was cleaned up and ready to go back together. Somewhere along the way it also traded the factory wheels for a set of black multi-spoke wheels.
It’s still in progress, so there’s no current exterior shot yet. That’s coming once it’s back on the road.
